AI face scanners could be used in supermarkets to check your age
Supermarkets in the UK may use AI scanners to check the age of shoppers buying alcohol, eliminating the need for physical proof of identification.
Tesco, Asda, Morrisons, and Co-op have already participated in trials to test the technology, which involves scanning the customer's face at the till and prompting a staff member to ask for physical ID if the system determines the customer could be underage. [ more ]
