AI and the 2024 Election
The California Legislature has introduced a suite of five bills aimed at protecting election integrity from AI-generated fake political ads on social media.
One of the bills proposed by Assemblymember Gail Pellerin seeks to ban 'materially deceptive' deep fakes related to elections.
Other bills in the suite aim to require AI companies and social media platforms to embed digital provenance data, identify AI-generated content, and provide verification tools. [ more ]
