Thousands wake to tents turned into shallow pools and children with blue lips from cold. All 1.4 million displaced Palestinians lack proper shelter or protection from sudden storms. Attempts to reinforce tents, secure tarps, and tighten shelters fail against fiercer winds and heavier rain. Floodwaters push in from every direction and the ground stops absorbing water, causing rapid rises that turn living areas into swamps. People have nowhere else to go and take days to salvage soaked belongings amid continuing storms.
