Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff are traveling to Egypt to finalise technical details of a hostage release and to discuss a lasting ceasefire. Hamas indicated readiness to free hostages under Trump's plan, and Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed hope to bring all remaining hostages home soon. Egypt will host Israeli and Hamas delegations to negotiate an exchange of Israeli hostages for Palestinian prisoners. Previous ceasefire talks were derailed after an Israeli airstrike in Qatar killed six people. Recent Israeli strikes on Gaza killed scores of Palestinians, including attacks on homes, a bakery gathering, and a tent in al-Mawasi.
