Mass. man aboard Gaza aid flotilla arrested by Israeli forces after boats are intercepted, activists say
""Hello. I am Torleif Stumo from the U.S., and if you are watching this video, it means that I have been kidnapped by the IOF and taken to Israel against my will," Torleif says in his video. "Please put pressure on my government to end their complicity and bring me home.""
""Israeli naval forces illegally intercepted and boarded the Global Sumud Flotilla's vessel Huga along with other boats in international waters," the coalition said in the post. "This is an illegal attack on unarmed humanitarians. We call on governments and international institutions to demand their immediate safety and release.""
Torleif Stumo and his brother Adnaan from Sheffield were sailing with the Global Sumud Flotilla to deliver food and humanitarian aid to Gaza. Israeli forces intercepted the Flotilla and arrested Torleif after boarding the vessel Huga. Thirteen of the 44 vessels had been intercepted by Wednesday night while Adnaan's boat Mikeno was still sailing. Livestreams from Huga were cut and the status of its crew remained unconfirmed. Torleif recorded a video saying he had been kidnapped by the IOF and asked for pressure on his government. The coalition called the interceptions illegal and demanded immediate safety and release.
