Heavy menstrual bleeding is a common issue that affects one-third of women, leading to fatigue and potential anaemia. Irish footballer Amber Barrett shared her personal experience, recalling her first period at age 12 before a GAA match. Initially unaware of the impact this would have, Barrett performed well in that game. However, as she continued her athletic career, she learned how heavy menstrual bleeding could affect her energy levels and overall health.
