Maimonides Health opened a Women's Neurology Center on Jan. 28 at the Maimonides Doctors Multispecialty Pavilion in Borough Park. The center combines neurology and OB/GYN care into a one-stop practice and is the first of its kind in New York City. Care is coordinated among neurology, primary care and OB/GYN services to treat conditions such as migraine, stroke risk, multiple sclerosis and epilepsy. The center is led by neurologist and epileptologist Dr. Susanna O'Kula and Dr. Rodney McLaren, director of Maternal-Fetal Medicine Ambulatory Services. Clinicians provide specialized expertise for neurologic health during pregnancy and menopause. Patients access comprehensive prenatal care and subspecialty services across neuroimmunology, neurovascular, headache and neuromuscular care.
