"I'm building a full community site on one of the least-flexible platforms out there: Google Sites. I don't know how to code beyond editing small bits of HTML/CSS, so everything that makes this work are embeds - mainly Padlet and Chatango - and lots of creative hacks."
"It's simple, but also one of the most challenging and fun projects I've done. I've managed to stitch together something that kind of works without heavy coding."
"Just remember I'm kind of a beginner that's web designed for at least half a year in total, so it isn't fabulous... Ahah I don't want it to close lol As for the "team" part mentioned in the site I'm the only lonely soul on there"
I created a full community site on Google Sites, a restrictive platform. My coding knowledge is limited to small HTML/CSS edits, so the site relies on embedded tools—primarily Padlet and Chatango—and many creative hacks. The design is intentionally simple yet demanding and enjoyable to build. I managed to stitch together a working solution without heavy coding. I invite feedback and note beginner experience of roughly half a year in web design. The site shows a "team" label, but only one person manages and maintains the project.
