Core Keeper is a subterranean base-building survival game that launched in 1.0 in August 2024 after Steam Early Access. Players (solo or in co-op) begin trapped in a sprawling underground cavern with no return to the surface and must tunnel through stone to progress. The world contains fertile clearings, ancient ruins, treasures, and distinct biomes, each capped by a boss encounter that provides structured goals. Developer Pugstorm has delivered regular patches and major updates adding new biomes, bosses, combat pets, explosive weapons, a much-improved inventory system, and seasonal events. The game is available on PlayStation Plus this month.
