Grand Theft Auto VI is delayed -- again | TechCrunch
"Grand Theft Auto VI, one of the most anticipated video games of all time, has been delayed, again - this time until November 19, 2026. The game was initially slated for a fall 2025 release, but was pushed back to May 2026. On Thursday, Rockstar Games announced that the development team needs another six months. Rockstar Games did not provide additional details about the delay. Last week, the company fired between 30 and 40 employees for allegedly sharing confidential information in a Discord server."
""We are sorry for adding additional time to what we realize has been a long wait, but these extra months will allow us to finish the game with the level of polish you have come to expect and deserve," Rockstar Games wrote in a statement. Grand Theft Auto VI is the sequel to Grand Theft Auto V, which was released in 2013."
Grand Theft Auto VI has been postponed to November 19, 2026, after earlier moves from fall 2025 to May 2026. Rockstar Games said the extra six months will allow the development team to finish the game with the expected level of polish. Grand Theft Auto VI follows Grand Theft Auto V (2013), which became the fastest entertainment property to reach $1 billion in sales, achieving that in three days. The game’s trailer set a YouTube 24-hour view record (excluding music videos). Rockstar provided no further delay details and recently dismissed 30–40 employees over alleged leaks.
