Modern Warfare 4 is the next main Call of Duty installment and a direct sequel to 2023’s Modern Warfare 3. It continues MW3’s story with new weapons and maps, while remaining a first-person shooter with single-player content and multiplayer modes. The game is not a remake or reimagining, and includes returning characters plus new faces. It releases October 23 on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2, with no PS4 version. Warzone also drops PS4 and Xbox One after MW4’s October launch, becoming unplayable on those older systems.
