Elden Ring On Switch 2 Delayed Until 2026 Due To Performance
""While development on Elden Ring Tarnished Edition continues wholeheartedly toward release," posted the Elden Ring account, "we have decided to move the launch to 2026 to allow time for performance adjustments. We apologize to players looking forward to the game and thank you for your patience and support.""
"Regarding the Nintendo Switch 2 Elden Ring Tarnished Edition, which was scheduled for release in 2025, we have determined that additional time is required for game performance adjustments, and we will therefore be changing the release to 2026. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause to all users who have been looking forward to the release of this title. We will continue to make adjustments to deliver it in the best possible form, so we kindly ask for your understanding. Thank you very much for your patience."
Elden Ring Tarnished Edition for Nintendo Switch 2 has been postponed from a 2025 launch to sometime in 2026 to allow extra time for performance adjustments. FromSoftware and the official Elden Ring account issued apologies and asked for player patience while development continues. The original game released on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC in 2022. Early Switch 2 demonstrations, including Gamescom footage, showed severe frame-rate and performance issues. Bandai Namco reportedly restricted recording of the demo to prevent problematic footage from being posted. The delay aims to improve stability and deliver the port in the best possible form.
