EA is shutting down Anthem's servers, which were still up
Briefly

Electronic Arts announced the shutdown of Anthem's servers, effective January 12, 2026. Players can access the game online for 180+ days but can no longer purchase in-game premium currency. Anthem will be downloadable until the shutdown date, and existing currency remains usable. The game was previously announced to undergo a redesign, which was later canceled. Released in January 2019, Anthem features multiplayer online action-RPG gameplay where players pilot customizable exosuits, or Javelins, on alien missions.
"After careful consideration, we will be sunsetting Anthem on January 12, 2026. This means that the game will still be playable online for the next 180+ days."
"Anthem will remain downloadable and playable from digital libraries until Jan. 12, 2026. While premium currency can no longer be purchased, existing currency is still usable."
"In the spirit of transparency and closure we wanted to share that we've made the difficult decision to stop our new development work on Anthem (aka Anthem NEXT)."
"Anthem was released on PlayStation 4, Windows PC, and Xbox One in January 2019."
