Captain America And Black Panther Game Delayed With No New Date
"Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra stars Captain America and Black Panther during World War II and is written by Amy Hennig, one of the masterminds behind the Uncharted g ames. It's also not coming out anytime soon. It's been delayed again and doesn't have a new release window this time. "Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra is an ambitious project, and we are committed to ensuring it meets the level of quality that our team, players, and fans expect,""
"For anyone who hasn't been following the project, Rise of Hydra takes place in Occupied Paris and is based on the limited comic book series Captain America/Black Panther: Flags of Our Fathers. The action-adventure sports a team-up between Steve Rogers, Azzuri, Howling Commandos member Gabriel Jones, and Wakandan spy chief Nanali. The game was first confirmed back in 2021, teased at the D23 Expo in 2022, and finally received a full Unreal Engine 5 trailer in 2024."
Skydance Games shifted Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra beyond early 2026, citing a need to fully realize the team’s vision and quality standards. The game was originally slated for holiday 2025, then pushed to early 2026 in May for additional polish. The title is set in Occupied Paris and adapts the Captain America/Black Panther: Flags of Our Fathers limited series, featuring Steve Rogers, Azzuri, Gabriel Jones, and Wakandan spy chief Nanali. Amy Hennig is credited as a writer. The project was confirmed in 2021, teased at D23 2022, and shown in an Unreal Engine 5 trailer in 2024, but substantial gameplay footage has not yet appeared. EA previously canceled a separate Black Panther game, making this project the most visible Black Panther effort currently in development.
