Battlefield 6 Apparently Failed To Credit All Of These Essential Game Developers
"Ridgeline helped lay the "foundation" for what Battlefield 6 would become, and everyone who worked on it deserves to be recognized, Lehto said. "These talented developers worked tirelessly for 1 to 2.5 years, building the foundation of the game, before I left voluntarily and the studio was subsequently shuttered," he said. "Despite their significant contributions, most who were laid off were relegated to a 'Special Thanks' section at the very end of the credits--and several were omitted entirely, including myself.""
""Game development is a team effort, and every contributor deserves fair acknowledgment," he said. The developers that Lehto says were omitted from the Battlefield 6 credits include lead character artist Addres Naranjo, lead technical artist Rohan Knuckey, software engineers Jessica Moore and Dan Carr, along with Lehto himself."
Battlefield 6 sold more than seven million copies but faced controversy over end credits. Marcus Lehto raised concerns that many Ridgeline Games developers who helped build the single-player campaign were either relegated to a 'Special Thanks' line or omitted entirely. Ridgeline developers worked roughly 1 to 2.5 years on foundational campaign elements before the studio was closed and many staff were moved or laid off. Named omissions cited include Addres Naranjo, Rohan Knuckey, Jessica Moore, Dan Carr, and Lehto. An edited image of the credits was published and EA was contacted for comment. Similar credit omissions have occurred in other games.
