Design mindset shifted from centralized creation to enabling teams to develop ideas in a governed, safe environment that preserves Design System tokens and components. Embracing a 'production acceleration stage' combined with deep AI integration changed product design perspectives and introduced new ways of working, roles, and technical demands. AI adoption produced both challenges and opportunities, transforming old problems into new possibilities. A hackathon prototype—a chat interface built in Cursor—evolved into a Product Playground where teams can create, play, and share ideas while following design and product rules. The Playground supports experimentation and accelerates innovation under evolving rules.
