Innovating the Workspace: Crafting a Home Office Solution with Spacious, Adjustable, and Movable...
"Every user's home office is different, but they all have one thing in common, Desire to create a better space. Spend more good time and work there. But somehow we have no space at home, we work at the kitchen table, sofa, or bedroom because of lack of space. My aim was to build and improve a product which can be used by a large number of users in the home office space."
"In this section, I will share with you the final product that I have created: an ergonomically crafted, minimalist, and adjustable desk full of hidden storage. I attempted to follow the design thinking process or framework, which talked of five important phases: interviewing the users, defining problems at hand, ideating solutions for these problems, then creating scribbles for one idea, and getting feedback for the solutions, changes, and making the great product I proposed."
Many home workers lack dedicated workspace and often work at kitchen tables, sofas, or bedrooms due to limited space. The design goal centered on creating a versatile desk usable by many home-office users. The desk is ergonomic, minimalist, adjustable, movable, and contains hidden storage to maximize organization and spatial efficiency. A design-thinking process guided development: interviews, problem definition, ideation, sketching, feedback, and iteration. The prototype demonstrates features and functionality that enhance comfort, adaptability, and cleanliness of home office areas. The product targets improved time spent working, better ergonomics, and broader user adoption across varied living situations.
