Briefly

Who is Clay Higgins, the only House member to vote against releasing the Epstein files?
""a principled 'NO' on this bill from the beginning.""
""None of us want to go on record and in any way be accused of not being for maximum transparency.""
""reveals and injures thousands of innocent people - witnesses, people who provided alibis, family members, etc.""
""If enacted in its current form, this type of broad reveal of criminal investigative files, released to a rabid media, will absolutely result in innocent people being hurt,""
Both parties prepared for a unanimous House vote to force release of Jeffrey Epstein's case files. Republican Rep. Clay Higgins was the only lawmaker to oppose the measure. Higgins represents a southwest Louisiana district and is in his fifth term. Higgins described himself as a principled no and said the bill would reveal and injure thousands of innocent people, including witnesses, alibi providers, and family members. Higgins said he would consider supporting the bill if the Senate amended it to protect those named but not criminally implicated. The Senate passed the bill by unanimous consent.
