Masked officers with brown skin and Hispanic surnames were spotlighted as paradoxical enforcers of immigration policy. Conservative indifference until personal impact was cited as a reason for such employment choices and a failure to empathize or consider consequences. Non-white ICE workers were described as serving people who hate them and their families, being told they will never be 'heritage Americans', and accused of wielding violent force against their community and future generations.
