WATCH: DHS Agents Crash Into Car, Drag U.S. Citizen Out Of It And Detain Her For Hours
"A U.S. citizen was violently pulled out of her car by Homeland Security agents and detained for hours in a chaotic scene in Chicago. The incident occurred on Friday afternoon. At the time, federal agents were continuing immigration enforcement as directed by President Donald Trump. As the agents were working, however, a hostile crowd quickly formed and forced them to retreat. In a video posted on social media, the agents driving in a silver SUV collided with a woman in a black vehicle."
"Moments later, agents exited their vehicle and approached the woman's vehicle with guns drawn. A voice off-screen could be heard shouting, You hit her! as the crowd soon realized what was unfolding. The masked agents then demanded that the woman later identified as Dayanne Figueroa get out of the car. When she refused, they pulled her out, and a struggle ensued. Figueroa was then cuffed and placed in a red van. Reports noted that Figueroa was simply on her way to get coffee before heading to work when the incident occurred. According to a report from the Chicago Tribune, Figueroa was released hours later."
"The Department of Homeland Security later released a statement claiming that Figueroa was at fault, saying she crashed into an unmarked government vehicle and violently resisted arrest, injuring two officers. Figueroa was released the same day a few hours later without charges. Figueroa said she intends to seek justice for how I was treated."
