President Trump issued a directive ordering every federal agency to immediately stop using Anthropic's technology, stating the government does not need or want it and will not conduct future business with the company. The order includes a six-month phase-out period for agencies such as the Defense Department that currently use Anthropic's products. This directive follows an ongoing dispute between the Pentagon and Anthropic regarding concerns about military applications of artificial intelligence in warfare. Anthropic has not yet responded to requests for comment regarding the presidential order.
