Does that make sense? He added: They'd rather have me take the smaller one [dose]. I take the larger one, but I've done it for years, and what it does do is it causes bruising."
"In July, Trump was diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency, which White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt described as a benign and common condition in which damaged veins prevent blood from flowing properly. Leavitt said the bruises were consistent with minor soft tissue irritation from frequent handshaking and the use of aspirin, which is taken as part of a standard cardiovascular prevention regimen."
President Trump takes a higher daily aspirin dose than his doctors recommend, reportedly 325mg for cardiac prevention and considered high for that purpose. He stated a preference for what he called "thin blood" and said he has taken the larger dose for 25 years. The larger dose can cause bruising, which was observed on his hands over the summer. In July, he was diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency; White House officials described the condition as benign and said the bruises were consistent with handshaking and aspirin use. An MRI was reported in October as preventative.
