Trump is looking to Argentina to fix the high price of beef in the U.S.
"We would buy some beef from Argentina,"
"If we do that, that will bring our beef prices down."
President Donald Trump said the United States could buy beef from Argentina to lower domestic beef prices. He told reporters aboard Air Force One that purchasing Argentinian beef would bring U.S. beef prices down. He pledged earlier in the week to address beef costs as part of efforts to contain inflation. U.S. beef prices have risen due to drought and reduced imports from Mexico caused by a flesh-eating pest in cattle herds. Trump is also working to support Argentina’s collapsing currency with a $20 billion credit swap line and additional financing ahead of midterm elections for President Javier Milei.
