Mike Huckabee, U.S. ambassador to Israel, met in July at the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem with Jonathan Pollard in a meeting omitted from Huckabee's official schedule. Pollard confirmed the meeting and described it as friendly while also attacking President Trump as a madman who sold the country for Saudi gold. Huckabee's senior advisor David Milstein was reportedly present, and unnamed officials said the meeting alarmed the CIA station chief in Israel. The White House was unaware in advance and senior officials were alarmed when they learned it had occurred. Pollard served 30 years for selling U.S. secrets to Israel, was released in 2015, and moved to Israel in 2020 on a private jet owned by Sheldon Adelson.
