HHS is holding more than $7 billion for TANF, over $2 billion for the Child Care and Development Fund, and about $870 million from the Social Services Block Grant. The agency suggested fraud without offering evidence. HHS spokesperson Andrew Nixon said the administration will ensure federal dollars are used for legitimate purposes and that states follow the law. Colorado reported it has not received notification. Minnesota child-care funding was recently paused amid a federal probe tied to a YouTube allegation.
