Instead, they will participate in the People's State of the Union, a counter-rally on the National Mall coordinated by MeidasTouch and MoveOn. The event will be co-hosted by attorney Katie Phang and former anchor Joy Reid. Organizers aim to highlight federal workers, immigrants, and Americans affected by Trump administration policies. Van Hollen stated he refuses to normalize what he views as unconstitutional actions. During the official address, Trump is expected to announce ratepayer protection pledges designed to shield Americans from electricity price increases caused by AI data center demand, negotiated with tech companies to cover costs.
