Ian Prasad Philbrick is joining Slate as a politics writer and will cover the biggest political stories while helping shape newsletter coverage. He previously wrote the Starting Point newsletter at the Boston Globe and spent several years at the New York Times writing for The Morning and collaborating with established newsroom voices. Philbrick interned and freelanced for Slate while studying government and Latin American studies at Georgetown, where he edited an international relations journal and wrote for the Georgetown Voice. His early career also included a fellowship at Politico and an internship at CBS News. He starts on March 2.
