Senate Dem Grills Todd Blanche on His Sit-Down With Ghislaine Maxwell: The President's Consigliere'
"And you went down there and suddenly, shazam! She's out of what is a more confining situation- A much more relaxed federal prison. After a little more back-and-forth, Reed threw another jab at Blanche, You're a very gifted lawyer, but from my perspective, you have very low faith toward the Constitution and the people of America. And you're the president's consigliere. When Blanche said that Reed's assessment was wrong, Reed added, Well, I think the facts will prove me right."
Senator Jack Reed questioned Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche about Blanche’s 2025 interview with Ghislaine Maxwell, a convicted sex trafficker. Reed suggested Maxwell was moved to more comfortable custody shortly after the interview and cited amenities such as pet therapy, a private shower, and her own room. Blanche denied any claim that Maxwell was placed in high-security conditions or that the transfer resulted from the interview, saying she was moved from one low-security prison to another. Reed pressed on why President Donald Trump sent Blanche, and Blanche said Trump did not send him. Reed responded that Trump would have relied on Blanche to learn what Maxwell would say about Jeffrey Epstein, and Reed claimed the outcome was a more relaxed prison situation.
