"We look forward to your prompt response and release of this footage to the public, as has already been promised by President Trump,"
"We write to request that you release all audio and video footage from the kinetic strikes on alleged drug boats in the Caribbean on September 2, 2025, including the follow-on strikes,"
"Our concern stems from reports that you, as Secretary of Defense, issued an order to 'kill everybody,' followed by additional strikes seeking to kill the two remaining unarmed, shipwrecked individuals."
"What I saw in that room was one of the most troubling things I've seen in my time in public service,"
Rep. Pat Ryan led 19 of 27 Democrats on the House Armed Services Committee in requesting release of all audio and video of the September 2, 2025 kinetic strikes on alleged drug boats in the Caribbean, including follow-on strikes. The request cites reports that Secretary of Defense issued an order to 'kill everybody' and that additional strikes sought to kill two remaining unarmed, shipwrecked individuals. Hegseth and the White House deny authorizing a follow-up strike and attribute it to Admiral Frank Bradley. Lawmakers who viewed footage reported survivors in clear distress and without means of locomotion. Some Democrats have called for Hegseth's resignation and introduced impeachment measures. The Pentagon did not respond to requests for comment.
