Rick Caruso confirmed he will not run for elected office this year after weighing where he can be most impactful and considering the impact on his family. His name rose in political conversations after the Palisades and Eaton fires, during which he criticized city bureaucracy and launched the nonprofit Steadfast LA to speed rebuilding through public-private partnerships. Steadfast helped secure a possible Measure United carveout for Palisades homeowners and aided the Palisades Recreation Center rebuild. Caruso's company plans to reopen Palisades Village when renovations finish, and he remains committed to Steadfast LA efforts and public service without holding office.
