The meeting focused on public backlash to violent immigration raids and administration comments about the killing of Minneapolis ICU nurse Alex Pretti by Border Patrol agents. Video evidence shows Pretti did not act violently, was sprayed with chemicals, thrown to the ground, and shot multiple times after agents appeared to remove his gun while restraining him. Several administration officials, including Noem, publicly disparaged Pretti afterward.
