Polls show most Americans despise ICE: "ICE and Trump are losing the argument" - LGBTQ Nation
"CNN chief data analyst Harry Enten detailed just how much Americans hate ICE right now, and how far the president has fallen in immigration approval ratings as a result of the terror campaign he's waged in blue cities. 'Americans at this point do not like ICE, and that is very different from what we saw during Donald Trump's first term,' Enten said. He said Americans felt relatively 'lukewarm' toward ICE in Trump's first term, giving it a net approval rating of zero."
"Additionally, Enten said 51% of Americans believe ICE is making cities less safe, compared to 31% who believe it's making them safer. 52% of Americans also say Trump has gone too far in deporting undocumented immigrants, compared to 45% who felt this way in February of 2025. Trump is also not faring well on overall immigration approval ratings. In March, he was at plus three points. Now, he's 'way underwater' at minus 16, Enten said."
Protesters in Hingham Square gather weekly to oppose immigration policy, ICE, President Trump and related issues, continuing for years. Public approval of ICE has fallen from a net zero to negative 17. Fifty-one percent of Americans believe ICE makes cities less safe, while 31% believe it makes them safer. Fifty-two percent say deportation efforts have gone too far, up from 45% in February 2025. Overall immigration approval for President Trump dropped from plus three points in March to minus 16. An extensive deportation campaign has produced unconstitutional arrests, detentions, and alleged due-process violations by the Department of Homeland Security.
