Joe Neguse confronted her for hiring Jared Wise, a pro-Trump rioter pardoned by President Trump. Neguse played video showing Wise participating in the January 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol. Bondi acknowledged that Wise is a senior Justice Department adviser and that he received a presidential pardon. Bondi repeatedly bristled when members reclaimed their time and responded angrily after questions. Neguse cited indictments alleging Wise faced two felonies and four misdemeanors, including charges of forcibly assaulting and interfering with police.
