Out Rep. Angie Craig leading effort to impeach Kristi Noem after the killing of Renee Nicole Good - LGBTQ Nation
"Out Rep. Angie Craig (D-MN) has announced she is part of a small group of Congress members who plan to introduce an impeachment resolution against Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem after an ICE agent shot and killed queer woman Renee Nicole Good in Minnesota while she was driving away from him. "ICE Barbie is not doing her job," Craig declared on MS Now. "It's lawless... She's not following any of our immigration laws in this country. She's following no protocols with respect to immigration enforcement.""
"Noem has been at the helm of the Trump administration's attempt to carry out the most extensive deportation campaign in American history, and the effort has resulted in a slew of unconstitutional arrests and detentions. The Department of Homeland Security has been ignoring due process and essentially kidnapping immigrants from their jobs, visa appointments, court dates, and the like. The administration continues to escalate, building new detention centers and sending throngs of ICE agents into Democratic-led cities to terrorize the communities."

The administration is expanding detention centers and deploying ICE agents into Democratic-led cities. Noem said in May that "due process does not guarantee a hearing," and lawmakers were reportedly barred from entering an ICE processing center despite a court ruling permitting access.
