An Oakland police officer received $490,000 in overtime while the department lacked records tracking the officer's activities. The Oakland Police Department opened an internal investigation into the matter. Mayor Barbara Lee said the allegations are concerning and that she will be in close contact with the department to review the findings. Lt. Dolan's photo and name were removed from the Oakland Police Officers Association website; he had served as vice president and the elected position is now filled by Lt. Omar Daza-Quiroz. Union spokesperson Sam Singer said Dolan chose not to run for reelection to give another officer experience. OPOA president Huy Nguyen defended Dolan and said he works mandatory sideshow operations, wrote the city's sideshow policing policy, trains newly hired officers, and is a subject matter expert on traffic and sideshow enforcement.
