NTIA will unveil a new Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) in the spring to support Tribal broadband access, aiming to reduce red tape and promote flexibility. The NOFO will realign grant opportunities to better serve Tribal connectivity and an estimated $500 million in remaining Tribal broadband funding is expected to be made available in the spring. NTIA will continue equitable distribution grants while awarding additional infrastructure and use-and-adoption grants under the Trump Administration's new rules. Broadband performance across 110 Tribal homelands varies widely, with 36% below 100 Mbps median fixed download and 19 homelands over 300 Mbps. Tribal governments are exploring greater ownership or partnerships with ISPs to improve networks.
