Allen was initially placed on suicide watch, and lawyers said later restrictions were lifted. Counsel told the court Allen remained in a padded cell under 24-hour lockdown with constant lighting. The magistrate judge questioned why Allen faced stricter treatment than convicted violent offenders in the same facility and apologized for the situation, saying it did not seem the way it was supposed to be. President Trump was asked about the incident and said the judge had also apologized to other suspects in prior cases, calling the pattern not believable.
