New York man faces charges for threatening ICE at NYC anti-Trump protest, officials say
"We're seeing in the courts how Trump is ignoring the courts, how Congress is not being an equal co-branch of government and they're basically just rubber-stamping whatever Trump wants. And we're seeing a genuine erosion of our rights,"
"What I would like to say to the other side is the fact that we are not the scary monsters that they have literally said,"
David Cox, 54, of Newark Valley, New York, was arrested after allegedly telling a gas station employee in Oswego he planned to travel to New York City to firebomb ICE agents at the 'No Kings' protest. Cox faces charges of making terroristic threats, false report of terrorism, and making a threat of mass harm. NYPD tracked his vehicle in Borough Park, Brooklyn, and arrested him Saturday. More than 100,000 protesters participated in the 'No Kings' demonstration, with crowds flooding Times Square. On Staten Island, about 600 protesters rallied near Rep. Nicole Malliotakis's office and marched toward Clove Lakes Park. The Staten Island rally remained peaceful under NYPD oversight.
