The issue resurfaced when Trump denied being racist while commenting on Reverend Jesse Jackson's death and that denial became central in a White House briefing exchange. CBS correspondent Ed O'Keefe asked press secretary Karoline Leavitt to cite examples of false accusations; Leavitt promised a "plethora of examples" and offered to provide "receipts." O'Keefe posted tweets referencing past Trump tweets denounced by some Republicans. Trump also cited Mike Tyson's defense at a White History event to protest his innocence.
