A nearly two billion dollar taxpayer-funded slush fund is described as enabling payments to whomever is chosen, for whatever purposes, whenever desired. The arrangement is said to include payments to individuals connected to the January 6 events who attempted to overturn a Democratic election. The plan is characterized as granting broad immunity from lawsuits to Donald Trump, his businesses, and his children for essentially everything they have done. The DOJ is described as labeling the fund an “anti-weaponization fund” intended to compensate people designated as victims of lawfare. The account argues that Trump has used litigation as a weapon rather than as a remedy, citing court sanctions and numerous lawsuits and settlements involving media and social media platforms.
"In 2023, a federal judge fined Trump and his attorney, Alina Hava, nearly $1 million for filing a completely frivolous lawsuit against Hillary Clinton. The judge described Trump as a prolific and sophisticated litigant who is repeatedly using courts to seek revenge on political adversaries. During Trump's second term alone, he has sued or kept suing an Iowa newspaper, a television network, Bob Woodward, the Wall Street Journal, the BBC, and the Pulitzer Board, among many others."
