Trump said he does not think about Americans’ financial situation and does not think about anybody, stating that only one issue matters: preventing Iran from having a nuclear weapon. Morning hosts reacted by criticizing Trump for being indifferent to rising costs faced by working Americans. They cited increases in gas and food prices during the war period and said Trump’s stance was being stated openly rather than implied. They also referenced political consequences and public perception that Trump appears out of touch with everyday economic realities.
