"The House of Representatives is scheduled to vote on Tuesday on a bill that would require the Department of Justice to release its files relating to Epstein, who authorities say committed suicide in a Manhattan jail cell in 2019. Greene was one of just four Republicans to sign a discharge petition to force a vote on a bill, which is expected to pass."
"President Trump just attacked me and lied about me. I haven't called him at all, but I did send these text messages today. Apparently this is what sent him over the edge. The Epstein files. And of course he's coming after me hard to make an example to scare all the other Republicans before next weeks vote to release the Epstein files."
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene posted a screenshot of a text she says she sent to President Trump after she backed a discharge petition to force release of Jeffrey Epstein files. The House will vote Tuesday on a bill requiring the Department of Justice to release its Epstein-related files; the bill is expected to pass. Greene was one of four Republicans to sign the petition. Trump attacked Greene on Truth Social, calling her wacky and a ranting lunatic and saying he is withdrawing his support and endorsement. Greene replied on X with a lengthy rebuttal blaming the Epstein files for Trump's response and criticizing his efforts to block their release.
