Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene announced she will resign from Congress effective Jan. 5, 2026. She said she does not want her congressional district to endure a hurtful and hateful primary after President Donald Trump pledged to endorse a challenger. The resignation followed a public fallout in which Greene criticized Trump on Jeffrey Epstein files, foreign policy, and health care. Trump labeled her a "traitor" and "wacky" and called her resignation "great news for the country."
