Kamala Harris said many people consider her the most qualified presidential candidate in U.S. history. She attributed part of her 2024 loss to voters needing more time to learn her background. Harris cited milestone roles including first woman attorney general of California and first female vice president of the United States. She blamed rampant mis- and disinformation and said being a woman and a woman of color created additional hurdles for her campaign. Harris promoted her book 107 Days on a tour that included both applause and protest and she criticized the Trump administration sharply at events.
