A U.S. television host scolded European leaders for refusing to cede Greenland to the United States and questioned why they would not comply. A co-host responded that leaders sometimes must say no and argued Denmark and Greenland leadership and some European governments have the resolve to oppose annexation, warning that forced action could prompt NATO disbandment. The co-host said NATO disbandment would please Vladimir Putin. A U.S. official and a member of Congress separately supported annexation, with the congressman introducing legislation authorizing steps to pursue control of Greenland.
