One group prays while another silently protests and displays printed images of detainees from amNewYork, including newspaper covers showing families affected by arrests. amNewYork documented what it describes as unrelenting and sometimes violent arrests outside courtrooms. New Yorkers with Rise and Resist gather every Thursday to protest those arrests. Organizers and participants call the actions inhumane and illegal and say continued public attention is necessary.
