"Enten first pointed to Fox News polling showing Harris's net favorability has fallen from -5 points in October 2024 to -13 points this month. Those numbers are even worse among independents, Enten pointed out. She is not well-liked at this particular point. The American people, they don't want this, they don't want her, and get this, she's 37 points underwater with independents, he said. If you can't win independents, you can't win the election. And the bottom line is she is way, way, way underwater. She is definitely swimming with the fishes."
"Enten also pointed out polling among Democrats and Democrat-leaning voters that is less-than-stellar for Harris. According to survey results from YouGov, Yahoo News, and Times, 28% of voters who are either Democrat or lean Democrat, are quickly losing excitement about the prospect of Harris running again. In April, 28% said they were excited about another Harris run. That number has since dropped to 9%. For comparison's sake, California Governor Gavin Newsom (D) has seen the opposite effect in public interest. In April, 8% of Democrats or voters leaning Democrat said they'd be excited to see the governor run for president. That number has since jumped to 21%."
Kamala Harris's net favorability dropped from -5 points in October 2024 to -13 points this month, with much worse results among independents. Polling shows Harris is 37 points underwater with independents, undermining her ability to win broader support. Enthusiasm among Democrats and Democrat-leaning voters for another Harris run fell from 28% in April to 9% in recent surveys. By contrast, Gavin Newsom's support among Democrats rose from 8% to 21%. Harris's standing has weakened nationally, among Democrats, and in California, leaving uncertainty about the political impact of her current promotional efforts.
