"But what kind of message does it send to someone who may be unhinged, that what they did was sedition, punishable by death, and that they are traitors?"
"I can't tell you how many death threats I have because of the rhetoric that is out there, right?"
"We've got to stop this Trump Derangement Syndrome, because it really is not helping anybody."
President Trump continued to push that six Democratic lawmakers who urged service members to disobey illegal orders should face charges of sedition, asserting sedition can be punishable by death. Two Democratic senators and four representatives now require 24/7 police protection following the accusation. Rep. Lisa McClain said she agreed with the reminder about the oath and warned that freedom of speech does not shield individuals from consequences. McClain condemned political violence while also blaming Democrats for initiating the rhetoric and urging an end to "Trump Derangement Syndrome." A request for clarification was made about whether military or intelligence personnel should obey certain orders.
