"I have nothing but good things to say about Curtis. But at the end of the day it's very clear that Curtis can't win," Hikind told The Post of the red-beret wearing founder of the vigilante Guardian Angels."
"I don't want New York to disappear. Mamdani is a threat to the well-being of every New Yorker. He will destroy New York."
"Cuomo is not a good guy but he's the only one who can stop Mamdani. If it's Mamdani or Cuomo, it has to be Cuomo."
Dov Hikind, founder of Americans Against Antisemitism and former state Assemblyman for Borough Park and Midwood (1983–2018), shifted his endorsement from Curtis Sliwa to Andrew Cuomo. Hikind concluded Sliwa cannot win and prioritized preventing Zohran Mamdani from taking City Hall, calling Mamdani a threat who will harm New Yorkers. Hikind labeled some of Mamdani's positions antisemitic, citing support for BDS and a vow to arrest Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Hikind acknowledged past issues with Cuomo but judged Cuomo preferable to Mamdani. Polls show Mamdani leading, Cuomo in second, and Sliwa trailing.
