Epstein's longtime accountant testifies he was 'not aware' of sex offender's crimes
"While Epstein was alive, I never observed any sexual abuse or trafficking of women and never received a complaint—either by one of Epstein's victims or anyone else—of such abuse or trafficking. I regret that I may have unknowingly assisted Epstein in any way."
"Jeffrey Epstein's massive sex trafficking ring would not have been possible without the consistent payments and services of his long-time accountant Richard Kahn. It's not credible that he had no knowledge of Epstein's activities, and his testimony today only raises more questions."
"Along with managing Epstein's operations, Kahn admitted to facilitating a fake marriage between two women, impersonating Epstein in communications with banks, and confirmed Epstein spoke about Donald Trump 'a lot.'"
Richard Kahn, Jeffrey Epstein's accountant since 2005 and co-executor of his estate, testified before the House Oversight Committee in a closed-door deposition. Kahn stated he never observed sexual abuse or trafficking and was unaware of Epstein's crimes. However, Democratic Rep. Robert Garcia countered that Kahn admitted to facilitating a fake marriage, impersonating Epstein in bank communications, and confirmed Epstein discussed Donald Trump frequently. Garcia argued Kahn's financial services were essential to Epstein's trafficking operation. Republican Chair James Comer reported Kahn answered all questions during the two-hour deposition and confirmed five clients paid money to Epstein, including Victoria's Secret CEO Les Wexner.
